The circular economy for smartphones is growing fast but without a compass. Until now.

Created as part of the 2025 Dipli and Ipsos study: “Trade-in programs and refurbished smartphones: decoding European consumers”, the Dipli Circular Index (DCI) assesses how far European markets have progressed toward a truly circular smartphone economy.
Based on insights from over 4,000 respondents across France, Germany, the UK, and Poland, the DCI provides each country with a score out of 100.

- 2 weighted index: 50% Refurbished Index + 50% Trade-in Index,
- 4 weighted dimensions of the customer journey: Adoption (40%), Satisfaction (25%), NPS (20%), Consideration (15%).
